IP (ingress protection) protection grade system is drafted by IEC (International Electrical Communication), which classifies electrical appliances according to their characteristics of dust and moisture prevention. The first digit indicates the dust-proof index

0. Indicates no protection

1. It can prevent the harm of solid above 50mm. (accidental hand contact)

2. It can prevent the harm of solid above 12mm. (finger sized object)

3. It can prevent the harm of solid above 2.5mm. (thin wire, etc.)

4. It can prevent the harm of solid above 1mm. (thin wire, etc.)

5. It can prevent the harm of dust.

6. Completely prevent the harm of dust.

The second digit indicates the waterproof index

0. Indicates no protection

1. It can prevent the hazard of falling vertically into the water

2. It can prevent the harm of direct water spraying at an angle below 150 in the vertical direction

3. It can prevent the harm of direct water spraying at an angle below 600 in the vertical direction

4. It can prevent the harm of direct water spraying from all directions

5. It can prevent the harm of low-pressure water jet from all directions

6. It can prevent the harm of high-pressure water jet from all directions

7. It can prevent the hazard of immersion between 15cm ~ 1m

8. It can prevent the hazard of long-term immersion under pressure
